seem to be getting really awful speeds...
Modem : D-Link 504T Genll Modulation ADSL_2plus Annex Mode Annex A Max Tx Power -38 dBm/Hz
SNR Margin [down 14] [up 15] dB Line Attenuation [down 56] [up 35] dB Data Rate [down 3043] [up 569] kbps
Exchange: S.A/Adelaide/SALISBURY DA235 (Covers 79,282.5 square meters) Line of Sight: 3838m
still using a old old adsl micro filter. have unplugged the phones
is it just the crappy exchange?

Line of Sight: 3838m Your actual cable length is likely to be in the order of 4700 Meters. If so a sync speed of 3043/569 is exceptional. Line Attenuation [down 56] [up 35] dB Your sync speed is very good for the reported attenuation. is it just the crappy exchange? No, It is your line length that is slowing you down. What you can try - First: Set your modem to ADSL1 only. Your not going to get over 8Mbit so your not going to lose out on any speed. As the ADSL2+ frequencies attenuate more easily than ADSL, you might see a lower attenuation value and possibly a higher speed. - Second: It appears you are on a "stability" profile (Your noise margins are around 14dB), you may have had dropouts in the past. You can call Tech Support to be taken off the stability profile. This might increase the risk of dropouts, but may also give you a higher speed. If you call, ask "Can I be taken off the stability profile?", the Tech's will know what to do.

adsl2+(multi mode) connects adsl2(multi mode) doesnt connect adsl(multi mode) doesnt connect Looks like Multimode has been disabled on our side. You could call and ask for Multimode to be enabled. Once enabled, you can then try the varions modulations. adsl (itu g.992.1) That's the one to try.

Sounds like they want to play it safe with your connection. That's fair enough as dropouts are quite the nuisance.
If you want PM me your username and I will see if I can get somone to have a closer look.

also im not sure if i am setup right Red Lines = phone lines it looks like someone has leeched off the first wall socket ? not sure if my setup will affect my internet Also if both computers are on and browsing it for some reason will crash n just say waiting for a response , and this is not a LAN network issue because i have ruled that out.

Well the thing to try is plugging the modem into the other wall socket.

Looks like a phoneline problem.
The best advise is call Technical Support and advise them you are having dropouts. They will walk you through an isolation test and escalate the problem to our second level team to get fixed up.
