I get about 10mbits in the morning then in the afternoon about 6.6mbits and dropouts randomly. This is what you get with a crappy d-link modem.

why keep the d-link?
You should upgrade and enjoy your 2+ experience.

No DSL2+ from any provider where I live (Not even Telstra) and the earliest I predict that this will happen is never.

I keep hassling the boys at the Primus Exchange to install a DSLAM into my exchange, but its possibly never going to happen:(

iPrimus ADSL2+ is the best IMHO, low latency, high quality network, none of that annoying crap TPG pull like transparent proxies *shudder*

And the best bit now, Unmetered traffic =D

Even better for me because I get to make whatever I want unmetered

 Grin
Muwhahaha!

Well i download a lot of torrents, mostly overnight when i sleep and i love the unmetered uploads offered by TPG, not sure about Primus.(can't find it info anywhere)

Also the handful of TPG proxies is also useful for downloading from rapidshare, megauploads, deposit files. etc

And the thing is if i want to xsfer to PNet need to also migrate my phone service across first, which can be a pain. Although it may be
worth while with the staff plans.

Primus does not count uploads besides a few plans such as Big Kahuna and the new iMax plans.

1472 is a dead giveaway. You have an Optus wholesaled service.
If your modem fails to sync at 2+ when first migrated, the service drops to a 1500 (well, 1472) connection.

Having said that, we have bumped you back up to a 2+ profile. If you have sync problems (dropouts, etc) try an isolation test, and failing that we may need to change your profile again.

From memory I'm on the 10MBPS profile, 700m estimated wiring, 400something meters from exchange.

Anyone know the user/pw for the OpenNetworks 421 (I think)? Something like: root/0p3n?
